For ObjectARX Programming... MSVC++ 7.0 is required... and only delivered as part of Visual Studio .NET 2002 (not 2003 and not 2004).

Note owners of Visual Studio 2003 and 2004 can downgrade to MSVC++ from 7.1 to 7.0 direct from Microsoft for $25.

One can also use AutoCAD 2005's new .NET interfaces with all of the above tools... 2002, 2003, 2004, 7.0 and 7.1.
