Keith Bentley co-founded Bentley Systems, Incorporated in 1984 along with his brother, Barry. He was the President of Bentley from 1984 through 1995, at which time he assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, he was named Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Bentley is a leading contributor to both Bentley's technical and corporate directions and has been a member of the company's Board of Directors since its inception.

Mr. Bentley has been active in engineering software for over 20 years. Prior to forming Bentley, he was a software engineer at E.I. DuPont Company and Dynamic Solutions Corporation. He is one of the principal authors of MicroStation, Bentley's flagship product. He continues to lead Bentley's technological development and has authored numerous white papers on the subject, including the recent papers "Engineering and the Enterprise" and "The Bentley Continuum: A Roadmap for the Next Decade." These documents are blueprints of Bentley's vision for the future of information technology.

In 1998, he was presented with the Eastern Technology Council's 1998 Enterprise Award for CEO Under Age 40. In 1996, Mr. Bentley, along with his four brothers, received the A/E/C SYSTEMS Computer Solutions Ed Forrest Award for excellence in Design/Construction Automation. The Bentley brothers also received the National Computer Graphics Association CAD Society Award for the Advancement of Computer Graphics in 1992. In addition, Mr. Bentley is proud to have recently served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Chester County.

Greg Bentley joined Bentley Systems, Incorporated, in 1991, bringing with him business-building experience in the software industry as the founder and former CEO at Devon Systems. Devon is the leading provider of derivatives trading software products to financial markets and was acquired in 1987 by SunGard Data Systems, Inc., where Mr. Bentley remains an active board member.

Under Mr. Bentley's leadership, Bentley has expanded from a software development shop to the leading worldwide solutions-provider for professionals in engineering, construction and operations of constructed assets. Mr. Bentley was named Chairman of the Board and President in 1995 [B]after he successfully led Bentley's renegotiations with Intergraph to take control of its own sales and marketing activities. [/B] In 2000, Mr. Bentley was named Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bentley was the driving force behind the Bentley SELECT technology and service subscription program; it now covers more than 200,000 Bentley technology users. Under Mr. Bentley's leadership, Bentley has broadened its offerings to include not only the MicroStation line of desktop tools for creating engineering information, but also the Viecon line of server-based technology for managing engineering information.

Barry Bentley co-founded Bentley Systems, Incorporated in 1984 with his brother, Keith. A member of the Board of Directors since Bentley s inception, Mr. Bentley was also Bentley s Chairman of the Board from 1984 through 1994 before turning over the reins to brother Greg. Prior to the creation of Bentley, Mr. Bentley co-founded Dynamic Solutions Corporation (DYSC) which developed software for analytical chemistry applications.

Throughout his career at Bentley, Mr. Bentley has been directly involved in the development and management of Bentley foundation products. Barry produced the first prototype of MicroStation on an IBM AT in 1986 and pioneered the software strategy for making MicroStation portable across a wide range of desktop computers. He has been intimately involved in the development of many of MicroStation s innovations, including the application development languages and environment, the graphics user interface, and its engineering collaboration capabilities.

In 1992 Mr. Bentley, along with his four brothers (all of whom work at Bentley), received the National Computer Graphics Association CAD Society Award for the Advancement of Computer Graphics. The Bentley brothers received the 1996 A/E/C Systems Computer Solutions Ed Forrest Award for excellence in Design/Construction Automation.

再补充一些家族情况

Bentley家父亲Tom Bentley, 母亲Bonnie Bentley一共生了6个小孩, 5兄弟加一个女儿(名字不详)

兄弟五人分别是Greg, Barry, Scott, Keith, Ray, 年龄相差6岁, 5 人均有学位, 三个工程学位, 一个商业管理, 一个财务会计学.

父亲是一个机械工程师在connecticut州遇见了他们的母亲, 一位老师.

后来,一家人搬到了Delaware州, 父亲开始为美国的杜邦公司工作.

有一件有趣的事, 父亲在老大Greg 15那年刚通过驾驶证考试之后,对他说, 你可以花150元买一辆卡车, 但是买回来时是不能使用, 你必须在一年内修好. 后来, Greg成功地只花了125买了一辆卡车回来, 并在6个月之内就修好了, 然后就开始用这车装一些机械器件, 再后来, 这辆车就从哥哥的手上转到下一个弟弟, 再下一个, 车不停地修整, 油漆....

但好象人气还不是很旺，经常发言的就那么几个人！

目前国内使用这个软件的人没有AutoCAD的人多，原因是我国在引进电子绘图软件时先引进的AutoCAD。各大专院校都已开设了这个软件的课程。其实Bentley这个软件要比AutoCAD好得多。在一些大型项目的使用中，体现出了这个软件的优越性。
我说得对吗？

因为CAD在市场上很容易买到，所以应用起来相对广泛！

我目前在做一个大型项目，使用软件包括MS，PDS，还用PKPM只是与国外结构软件做比较，不用AUTOCAD，他们说那是垃圾。
