Exton, PA - January 31, 2003 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, today articulated OpenDGN™ for V8. The program, an integral part of the V8 Generation at Bentley, represents an unprecedented expression of Bentley’s commitment to maximize its users’ return on investment in AEC content by encouraging and facilitating its re-use.



As part of the program, Bentley intends to provide support to an independent, nonprofit consortium that will maintain and license, at no fee to end-users, libraries to read and write V8 DGN format content. Moreover, the V8 Generation Bentley® View™ software will be provided without charge for downloading by anyone from Bentley’s Web site.



OpenDGN for V8 also incorporates substantial new benefits for Bentley SELECT® subscribers to propagate and leverage their AEC content. Bentley SELECT will now entitle unlimited use of Bentley® Redline™ software within subscriber organizations and by subscriber-authorized external recipients.

以前MS的圖檔格式是Intergraph的
為了圖檔的格式，還挨了Intergraph告了一狀
DGN的圖檔格式是Bentley心中之痛
不過
終於在V8有了不一樣的結果
Bentley把整個MS的DGN格式做了一次大改變
除了加強3D的功能
也解決了Cell及DGN大小的限制
不再延用舊的DGN格式
MS軟件本身也加入了DWG的兼容
目前V8還算是起步階段
bug難免有
大家還是多支持MS
以後才會有更好更穩的MS可以用囉
