New Features in GEOPAK V8.1
Several new features are included in GEOPAK V8.1 in addition to many enhancements of existing tools.
GEOPAK V8.1 supports MicroStation V8 level naming conventions in all dialogs and input files.
GEOPAK V8.1 supports Visual Basic for Applications. The GEOPAK Object Library automatically appears in the list of VBA references in the Visual Basic Editor. GEOPAK V8.1 initially supports classes for Coordinate Geometry and Digital Terrain Model.
GEOPAK V8.1 has improved interaction with ProjectWise by a more direct support of ProjectWise capabilities integrated within core GEOPAK. For example, access to GEOPAK files now intelligently responds to the presence of ProjectWise.
The Cross Section Sheet Layout Tool application was not be ported as is to V8 but has been re-written. The biggest enhancement is to reference the cross sections to the sheet design file instead of copying over the actual elements. Alteration in cross section geometry and labels are now immediately reflected on the cross section sheets.
A new camera tool has been added to the Analysis toolbox in the DTM application. This camera setup tool greatly facilitates visual quality control reviews of digital terrain models such as those generated by survey. The DTM Camera tool can navigate the model by referencing either a TIN file or 3D elements drawn into the MicroStation file.
GEOPAK Survey has added tools to replace the retiring CG menu bar application. These new tools are found in the Survey Plans Preparation tool box and include Draw Grid, Border, North Arrow, Scale Bar, Text in Objects and two specialized tables.
Several enhancements have been incorporated into GEOPAK Drainage. These include:
● enhancements to GUI to facilitate easier project navigation and component editing.
● new profile tool allows for dynamic profile edits thereby making grade and pipe changes easy.
● enhanced profile annotation of pipe and node information, pipe crossings and multiple ground surfaces.
● new updating preferences to allow for automatic recalculation, updating, and drawing of any or all parts of the drainage systems upon a design change.
GEOPAK Bridge has incorporated new graphical user interface (GUI) enhancements supporting tree-views in every modeling dialog similar to the Project Explorer. Various commands can also be accessed by a right mouse click, opening the pop-up menu as depicted below. Note the commands are supported in many of the Bridge tools dialogs such as Alignment Manager, Surface Manager, etc. |
